Azerbaijan has always been interested in developing good neighborly relations with all neighboring countries, including Iran, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aykhan Hajizade told Report.
He was commenting on the statement of Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani.
On April 10, Nasser Kanaani positively assessed the results of telephone conversations between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran on April 7-8.
Hajizade noted that during the recent telephone conversations between the foreign ministers, a detailed exchange of views took place on the current situation between the two countries. The Azerbaijani side positively assesses these negotiations and considers it important to continue consultations, he added.
“Respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states on a reciprocal basis is an invariable priority of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy. In this regard, the Azerbaijani side continues its efforts to ensure the national interests and national security of our country,” he emphasized.
