Markov: Shusha Media Forum unique opportunity to hear views of leader of victorious country

The 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum is a unique opportunity to hear the views of the leader of a victorious country—President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev—and to interact with colleagues from many countries around the world, Sergey Markov, Russian political analyst and Director of the Russian Institute for Political Studies, told Report's correspondent in Fuzuli.

The political analyst noted that he has a number of expectations for the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, but he is particularly focused on the upcoming speech by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“Ilham Heydarovich is undoubtedly one of the most experienced leaders of our time. He leads a victorious country. There are not many states in the world that have won a war and fully restored their territorial integrity. Many world leaders would like to understand the secret behind this victory and learn from that experience. We, too, want to ask these questions to the President. And he is known as a wise, competent, and respectful leader. That is why we are looking forward to a dialogue with him—with great interest and respect,” emphasized the Russian political analyst.

According to Markov, the forum is also a valuable platform for exchanging views among media professionals from around the world.

“Truly interesting people gather at this global media forum. For example, at the previous forum, I was surprised by one of the polls—participants were asked which sources of information they use most often. I was convinced that Telegram channels are most actively used in Russia. But it turned out that about 70% of journalists and experts from various countries also primarily rely on Telegram. This shows that Telegram has become the main source of information for the majority of media professionals,” the expert added.
