Korotchenko: There are no alternatives to Zangazur corridor

Russia considers the opening of the Zangazur corridor important, Igor Korotchenko, Director General of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies (Russia) said, Report informs.

“Russia has repeatedly stressed the importance of opening this infrastructure project. This is also recorded in the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020. In any case, Moscow stands for the unblocking of transport communications in the region and for the full implementation of the provisions that were recorded in the tripartite statement,” Korotchenko said.

The political scientist recalled that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan officially refused to open the Zangazur corridor in late 2022:

“In turn, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, declares over and over again that this process will be implemented, and the Azerbaijani side is doing its part of the work. Now it is up to the Armenian side. After all, there is no alternative to the Zangazur corridor.”
