Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received a Russian delegation led by Special Representative of the Russian President in the High-Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea Mikhail Ivanovich Petrakov, Report informs citing the Foreign Ministry.
The meeting took place on April 28 within the framework of bilateral consultations between Azerbaijan and Russia on the Caspian issues.
Before the meeting with the foreign minister, bilateral consultations were held between the Russian delegation, headed by the Special Representative of the Russian President for the delimitation and demarcation of the state border with neighboring states - members of the Commonwealth of the Independent States, Ambassador-at-Large Mikhail Ivanovich Petrakov and the delegation of Azerbaijan, headed by the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for border and the Caspian Sea, Xalaf Xalafov.
During the consultations, an exchange of views took place on the implementation of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, preparations for the next Caspian Summit, and draft agreements between the Caspian states on cooperation in this area, which are currently at the stage of coordination.
During the meeting with Jeyhun Bayramov, issues of cooperation on the Caspian issue, as well as the implementation of the tripartite statements of the President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and the President of Russia, including the delimitation and opening of communications, were discussed.
An exchange of views also took place on a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda.
