For many years, Turkiye kept the border with Armenia closed, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told a joint presser with his Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who is visiting Azerbaijan.
"The completion of the 44-day Patriotic War with the victory has created new realities in the region," he said.
"Azerbaijan repeatedly asked Armenia to conclude a peace agreement. Despite all difficulties, we suppose that it is already the time to think about normalization. We, Azerbaijan and Turkiye, are sending a message to Armenia - it is necessary to establish good-neighborly relations between the countries in the region. We assess it positively. Our position already relied on international law. There is complete coordination between Azerbaijan and Turkiye," the minister said.
