Ilham Aliyev expresses condolences over devastating quake in Venezuela

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolences to Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez, Report informs via AZERTAC.
"Your Excellency,
We are deeply shocked by the news of the powerful earthquake in Venezuela, which has caused numerous casualties and destruction.
In connection with this tragedy, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my deepest condolences to you, to the families and loved ones of those who perished, and to the entire people of Venezuela, and I wish a swift recovery to the injured," reads the letter.
On the night of June 25, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck northern Venezuela.
The US Geological Survey later reported two tremors, measuring 7.2 and 7.5, occurring 40 seconds apart.
The country's authorities declared a state of emergency. The earthquake killed more than 1,700 people.
