Egypt has expanded visa-on-arrival access for Azerbaijani citizens and continues to work with Azerbaijan to simplify visa procedures for Egyptian citizens, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Azerbaijan, Houssam Eldine Reda, said in an interview with Report.
"We have already introduced the possibility of obtaining a visa on arrival for Azerbaijani citizens, not only for trips to Sharm el-Sheikh, but for virtually the entire territory of Egypt. At the same time, we are working with our Azerbaijani friends on simplifying visa procedures for Egyptian citizens," he noted.
Speaking about cooperation in tourism, the ambassador emphasized that the number of Azerbaijani tourists visiting Egypt continues to grow, with Sharm el-Sheikh remaining one of the most popular destinations.
He believes that the similar family values and traditions shared by residents of the two countries contribute to the development of tourism exchange.
The ambassador also praised the level of safety in Azerbaijan, calling it one of the country's key advantages as a tourist destination.
"One of Azerbaijan's advantages is its high level of security. I truly believe that in this regard, Azerbaijan compares favorably with many popular tourist destinations. Here, people can walk freely in the evening without fear of attacks or harassment," he said.
