The youth can play an important role for Guinea, but they are influenced by colonialism because they are taught a colonial education, Hector Pindard, a member of the political bureau of the Movement for Decolonization and Social Emancipation (MDES), said at the international conference “Neo-colonialism: violation of human rights and injustice”, organized by the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), Report informs.
He emphasized that the young people are facing difficulties in learning their mother tongue: "This also has socio-economic effects, as they try to take them away from their true identity. They cannot play a key role in the future of their country. At the same time, the culture of their parents is not fully transmitted to them. Children don’t complete their school education, and therefore they can't find a job. 26,000 young people have difficulties with education".
Pindard also spoke about the increase in the level of unemployment: "Unemployment is increasing within the colonial framework. 13,000 young people suffer from unemployment, and the number is increasing. There are seven communes with more crises. There is also a problem with roads. People have difficulties in seeing their families."
