Hamid Hamidov: Azerbaijani flag in Khankendi - historic event

The hoisting of Azerbaijan’s national flag in Khankendi is a significant event in the history of the country, Media Director of Global Media Group Hamid Hamidov said in an interview with CBC TV channel, Report informs.

He noted that an event of this scale, as well as the unity and spirit of the Azerbaijani people, will definitely fall into the history books.

“The Azerbaijani flag in Khankendi has become a real symbol of victory. I am sure that many do not fully realize how important and historically significant this event is, which will definitely be included in the history books. What preceded this? First of all, the Azerbaijani people did not break. After the defeat in the first Karabakh war, we continued to gradually strengthen our potential, both militarily and economically,” said Hamidov.

He noted that the Azerbaijani people always believed and knew that these territories would definitely return to their true owners.

“We were fully preparing for the fact that these lands would definitely return to the real owner – Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani people, as well as their leadership, including Heydar Aliyev and Ilham Aliyev, took all the necessary steps to bring this moment, this important day closer,” he noted.

“Now there is not a single city in Azerbaijan where the national flag does not fly. This event is of great importance. Yesterday we fully completed and consolidated our victory,” added the media director of the Global Media Group.
