Haber Global: Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline to end Nakhchivan's gas dependence on Iran

The construction of the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline will effectively end Nakhchivan's reliance on Iran for natural gas, marking a significant geographical achievement for Türkiye against Iran, according to Turkish Haber Global TV, Report informs.

Commenting on the discussions between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline project, it was noted that significant decisions are consistently made and implemented following each meeting of the two leaders.

"Currently, the two leaders, who are taking steps in the name of the Turkic world, have convened. Serious topics are discussed at each of their meetings. Ilham Aliyev's promises for the Caucasus and Karabakh are coming true over time," Haber Global stated.

The TV also highlighted that Armenia, along with Iran, has historically aimed to suppress Nakhchivan: "Nakhchivan is a bridge between the Turkic world and Türkiye. We have no doubt that any pipeline passing through Nakhchivan will be under the control of neither Iran nor Armenia."

Additionally, connecting Nakhchivan to Azerbaijan also means connecting Türkiye to Azerbaijan: "So, gas flows from Baku to Türkiye - Igdir, and from there to Nakhchivan. In other words, this is a long road, and Türkiye must provide an easy path. This will also be Türkiye's geographical success against Iran."
