The UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs Felipe Paullier expressed the UN's readiness to provide continuous support for youth collaboration, Report informs.
Paullier made the remark during a meeting with Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov on November 13 in Baku within the framework of COP29.
Minister Gayibov briefed the guest on the conditions created for youth in Azerbaijan and the ongoing youth policies.
Paullier, in turn, emphasized the importance of joint efforts to further develop UN youth policies and increase youth participation in international decision-making. He also highlighted the UN's commitment as a global office to support youth collaboration consistently.
Following the meeting, Paullier visited the Youth House pavilion operated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Green Zone of COP29.
The primary objective of the meeting, which was also attended by Vladanka Andreeva, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, was to discuss enhancing the role of youth in combating climate change and the next steps for closer cooperation with Azerbaijani youth.
