Envoy: Azerbaijan - active member of OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir

Azerbaijan has always had a clear and unshakable position on the Kashmir issue, and supported Pakistan in all matters, Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee said at an event dedicated to the Kashmir Solidarity Day, Report informs.

Azerbaijan is an active member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, he noted.

"The world faces the coronavirus pandemic, due to which quarantine measures are being introduced. Imagine that a whole nation has been completely isolated from the rest of the world for a long time, deprived of all fundamental rights to a normal life, particularly education, medicine, and free access to information. Perhaps this is the greatest tragedy of our time. The Azerbaijani people well understand the Kashmiris drama, since Azerbaijan itself was a victim of the occupation. We hope that one day the Kashmiris who are today under the Indian occupation will celebrate their victory and rejoice just like you," the Pakistani ambassador said.
