Embassy of Italy launches new Visa Information System

Baku. 29 January. REPORT.AZ/ New Visa Information System comes into force at the Embassy of Italy in Azerbaijan.

The 29^th of January 2015 will entry into force the new Visa Information System, a system that will enable states part of Schengen treaty sharing information regarding entry visa, Report informs citing the press service of the Italian Embassy in Baku.

Those who will submit application for the first time are obliged to present themselves personally. In this occasion will be collected their biometrical data: a photograph and the fingerprints.Children under 12 years and people for whom is physically impossible are exempted from collecting fingerprints

Visa Information System was created in order to improve the procedures for applying for a visa and border control in the interest of citizens of countries that are not members of the Schengen area.
