Elin Suleymanov talks about rally on Khankandi-Lachin road in interview with The Times

Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Elin Suleymanov spoke about the rally on the Khankandi-Lachin road in an interview with The Times, as well as on other topics, Report informs referring to the diplomatic mission.

In response to the question of host Lucy Fisher about the purpose of the rally on the Khankandi-Lachin road, the ambassador noted that the main demand of eco-activists is to stop the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Azerbaijani territories, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed.

Suleymanov stated that the road is not used for humanitarian purposes, but mainly for the transport of mines and ammunition, and there are still more than 10,000 Armenian soldiers in Khankandi, which is contrary to the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020.

It was noted that the protesters don’t pose any threat, and the fact that hundreds of vehicles pass freely along this road during the week is clear evidence that there is no blockade.

Then the terror attack committed against the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was touched upon, the incident was sharply condemned. It was stressed that the perpetrators should be severely punished.
