Conference dedicated to Corsica to be held in Rome at BIG's initiative

A thematic conference titled "National identity, resistance and sovereignty: Perspectives for Corsica" will be held in Rome.

Report informs that the event will be held on May 13, jointly organized by the Baku Initiative Group and the Nazione Movement, which is fighting for the independence of Corsica, suffering from French colonialism.

The conference will be attended by the leadership and members of the Nazione Movement, as well as representatives of think tanks operating in Italy, experts on decolonization law, as well as a member of the Corsican People Support Group operating in the Azerbaijani Parliament.

The event will discuss the main problems faced by the Corsican people, who have suffered from French colonial policy, as well as political, legal, economic, social, cultural and other issues.

In this regard, the conference will analyze the recognition of national identity and the official status of the Corsican language, the protection of cultural heritage, ensuring the right of the Corsican people to self-determination, and the prospects for independence guided by the relevant mechanisms of the UN and other international organizations.

A press conference is planned to be held at the end of the event.
