Community calls on Greece to refrain from dangerous steps escalating regional tension

The Western Azerbaijan Community calls on Greece not to view issues through the prism of ethnic and religious bias and to refrain from dangerous steps that escalate tensions in the region, Report informs.

Western Azerbaijan Community emphasized in a statement that news about Greece providing modern weapon systems to Armenia has been circulating in the media:

"All these are part of the policy of non-regional actors to arm Armenia and turn the South Caucasus into an arena of geopolitical competition."

It was noted that it is unacceptable to arm an aggressive country that has expelled Western Azerbaijanis from their ancestral lands, occupied Azerbaijani territories for 30 years, and still maintains territorial claims against Azerbaijan in its constitution:

"The Western Azerbaijan Community calls on Greece not to view issues through the prism of ethnic and religious bias and to refrain from dangerous steps that escalate tensions in the region."
