Co-chair of Nizami Ganjavi International Center calls for strengthening WHO

Co-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center Ismail Serageldin has called for strengthening the World Health Organization (WHO), Report informs.

He was speaking at a panel discussion at the XII Global Baku Forum.

"If we didn't have the WHO, we would have to invent something similar. We need a central global platform that would display and track everything happening around the world and inform everyone about what's going on. And this will not only help avoid pandemics that occurred in the past but also organize mutual exchange," said Serageldin.

He added that for the WHO to work effectively, it is necessary to create a solid fund that would allow the organization to respond promptly to challenges in various areas, including healthcare and society.
