Baku to host international symposium for Ombudsmen in Azerbaijan

In the framework of the upcoming COP29 (Conference of the Parties) in Baku this November, an international symposium will be held with the participation of ombudsmen from foreign countries and national human rights institutions, Azerbaijan's Ombudsman, Sabina Alieva said.

According to Report, she made the announcement at the XV International Conference of Information Commissioners in Albania. She emphasized that the symposium will also focus on discussing issues related to access to information.

Sabina Alieva further informed the conference participants about the activities aimed at protecting and ensuring the right to access information, as well as the educational measures being implemented in this field in Azerbaijan.

As part of her visit, the Ombudsman held meetings with Ulsi Manja, Albania's Minister of Justice, Ermonela Felaj Valikaj, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, and other official figures.
