Baku hosts official reception on occasion of Japanese national holiday

An official reception has been held in Baku dedicated to the Japanese national holiday - the birthday of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, Report informs.

The national anthems of both countries were played at the opening of the event.

The event was attended by Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Katsuya Watanabe, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov as an honorary guest, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan and other officials.

The ambassador speaking at the event noted that the re-election of Ilham Aliyev as president is the beginning of a new era for Azerbaijan: “The foundation of the invaluable relationship between our peoples was laid by President Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan’s decision to host COP29 this year is of great significance as the beginning of this new era, and I, as a friend of Azerbaijan, sincerely welcome this initiative.”
