Baku celebrates 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan-Venezuela diplomatic relations

Baku hosted an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, Report informs.

The event, organized by the Embassy of Venezuela in Azerbaijan, was attended by representatives of state and government structures, diplomatic corps accredited in the country, members of the Milli Majlis (Parliament), along with public figures.

The Ambassador of Venezuela to Azerbaijan, Christopher Alberto Martinez Berroteran, delivered an opening speech, stating that exactly 30 years ago, on May 12, the path of friendship and mutual cooperation between Venezuela and Azerbaijan began.

"These were 30 years of achievements for the welfare of our peoples. Despite the great geographical distance between our countries, we are united by a sincere feeling of brotherhood that encourages us to work even more closely. Today, we reaffirm Venezuela's support for Azerbaijan's COP29 presidency and its leadership in combating climate change. We also express our readiness to further deepen cooperation in areas such as trade and energy in the spirit of South-South partnership," the diplomat noted.

The official part of the event concluded with a concert program featuring musical works from Venezuela and Azerbaijan.

The celebrations for the 30th anniversary will continue tomorrow with an exhibition showcasing artworks by Azerbaijani and Venezuelan artists.
