Azerbaijani, Uzbek presidents discuss issues of developing cooperation

On November 5, Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation, Report informs, referring to the official website of the Uzbek president.

During the conversation, President Ilham Aliyev warmly congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his landslide victory in the presidential elections, wishing him great success in ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the Uzbek people.

For his part, the Uzbek president congratulated the leader and the fraternal people of Azerbaijan on the upcoming national holiday - Victory Day, expressing wishes of peace and further progress.

Topical issues of strengthening the Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations of strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted cooperation were discussed.

The presidents noted with deep satisfaction the steady growth dynamics of the indicators of mutual trade and the number of joint projects in various sectors of the economy.

With the launch of vehicle production in the city of Hajigabul this year, projects in the field of agriculture and sericulture are cited as successful examples of cooperation.

The national industrial exhibition of Uzbekistan will be held in Baku next month. Preparations for the next meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council are in progress.

They also considered issues of interaction in the transport and communication sectors, in particular, the resumption of air traffic between the two capitals.

The presidents also exchanged views on the most important aspects of regional interaction, including on the agenda of the upcoming summit of the Turkic Council.
