Azerbaijani Foreign Minister attends Council of CIS Heads of State in Ashgabat

The meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of the CIS countries have begun in Ashgabat today.

Report informs referring to the Orient news agency in Turkmenistan that, before the start of negotiations, the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held bilateral meetings with colleagues from the Commonwealth countries.

The day before, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Kazakh counterpart Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov, Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, and Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov arrived in Ashgabat.

The meeting is also attended by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, as well as Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.

The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries will be held in a narrow and expanded format. It will consider ten documents on the development of cooperation.
