The recent developments in the broader region and the rising tensions between India and Pakistan were among the key topics discussed during the meetings in Baghdad between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, according to Report.
"We expressed our deep concern over the growing escalation in India-Pakistan relations, which has resulted in dozens of casualties. We extended our condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to our brothers and sisters. We also called on the sides to de-escalate the situation and resolve all disputes through diplomatic means," Bayramov stated.
He confirmed that other regional security issues were also discussed, particularly the situation in Syria and Gaza.
"We agreed on the need to find a resolution to the situation in Gaza," he said, reaffirming Azerbaijan's support for resolving regional conflicts through diplomatic channels.
