Azerbaijan's Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov met with a delegation headed by Ghada Waly, Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, who is visiting the country as part of COP29.
According to Report, the meeting highlighted Azerbaijan's active participation in political dialogue and practical cooperation within the UN framework. The organization of COP29 in Azerbaijan became a prime example of this cooperation.
It was also emphasized that partnership ties have been established between Azerbaijan and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice maintains close cooperation with the Office, as well as with the Central Asian and South Caucasus Coordination Network. The Ministry's participation in the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice activities was noted.
As part of discussions on further cooperation, it was proposed to include points regarding cooperation with Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice in the draft Plan of Practical Activities for 2024-2027.
Ghada Waly noted the high level of COP29 organization under Azerbaijan's chairmanship and expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation.
