Global effort needed to combat colonialism, Azerbaijani MP says

Those who claim that Azerbaijan interferes in France's internal affairs should be asked: “Since when has colonialism been considered a domestic issue? This is a global problem”, according to Azerbaijani MP Azer Allahveranov, Report informs.

Allahveranov made the remark at an international conference in Baku titled "Independence of Reunion: A Look at France's Colonial Heritage and Path to Sovereignty."

He noted that the fight against colonialism must be at a global level:

"Azerbaijan, which fights against colonialism within the framework of international law, faces negative attitudes with claims that 'it crossed our red line.' However, what you call a 'red line' is actually a line of shame. The fight against this will be systematic."
