Association head: New Caledonia wants to use Azerbaijan’s experience in fight against colonialism policy

New Caledonia may use Azerbaijan’s experience in the fight against colonialism, including in protecting its people, country and cultural values, president of the Association of Artists of Thio (New Caledonia), Alex Loic Oue Toura, said at the international conference on “Decolonization Dialogues: Legacy, Challenges, and Progress” taking place in Baku, Report informs.

“It is very important for us to convey the truth to the international community, since many people don’t even know about the existence of New Caledonia. Therefore, events like this are very important for us,” he noted.

He emphasized that it is necessary to support peoples who are not so well known in the world in their struggle for rights and freedoms.

“The conferences organized by the Baku Initiative Group are an excellent platform for us to express ourselves and our problems,” he added.
