"Azerbaijan changed the geopolitical landscape of the region and started to build the peace for change in the entire South Caucasus region," Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev said at the forum in the ADA University "Peace for the sake of culture," Report informs.
"Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day war created additional opportunities for integrated peacekeeping efforts in the South Caucasus and the region," he added.
Hajiyev also noted that Azerbaijan's strategy consists of achieving peace, along with winning the war: "Therefore, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev offered Armenia to start peace talks, by obeying the principle of mutual recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity."
