UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is waiting for the results of the investigation into the causes of the passenger plane crash belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), UN Deputy Spokesperson Florencia Soto Nino told Report.
She noted that the secretary-general is aware of the ongoing investigations to determine the causes of the tragic plane crash: "We note that the authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan have initiated an investigation in cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan to determine the causes of the tragedy. While awaiting the results, the secretary-general once again expresses his deep condolences to the families of the victims and the affected peoples."
