Baku. 23 February. REPORT.AZ/ Three more Azerbaijani athletes will vie today in the Grand Slam tournament in judo in German city of Dusseldorf.
According to Report, on the second day of the competitions among men, Rustam Orujov (73 kg) will meet the winner of the Robert Barwig (Germany) - Fethi Nourine (Algeria) bout in the 1/16 final.
In the 83 kg divisions Fagan Guluzade will encounter Georgia's Boka Dongvani in the 1/32 final. In the same division Murad Fatiyev will meet Moldovan Nikon Zaborosciuc in the 1/32 final.
Notably, Azerbaijan is represented by 10 men and 5 women athletes in the Grand Slam tournament. Seven athletes who stepped to the tatami on the first day of the tournament failed to win medals. on February 24 Mammadali Mehdiyev (90 kg) will encounter Israeli Li Kochman, Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) will encounter Austrian Aaron Fara in the 1/32 final, Elmar Gasimov will encounter the winner of the Thomas Briseno (Chile) - L.A. Smith (USA) bout, while Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg) will meet the winner of the bout between Francisco Solis (Chile) - Juhee Yun (South Korea).
In the competition among women Irina Kindzerska in the weight category +78 will encounter in the 1/8 final with the winner of Sandra Jablonskite (Lithuania) - Kseniya Chibisova (Russia) bout.
