Manager: Not Bursaspor, but Spanish clubs interested in Robert Prosinečki

Baku. 26 April. REPORT.AZ/ “There are clubs interested in Robert Prosinečki. But this is not Bursaspor. In general, we didn’t talk about this with any Turkish representative.”

The manager of the head coach of the Azerbaijan national football team Robert Prosinečki Yaşar Çalışır told Report. 

Turkish manager noted that the main interest for the 47-year-old specialist comes from Spain. Y.Çalışır associated this with the fact that his Croatian client for a long time worked in the Pyrenees country: "Prosinečki wasn’t an ordinary player. Very few players wore the jerseys of both Real Madrid and Barcelona so far. Moreover, he also played for Sevilla. That’s why he speaks Spanish well and familiar with the mentality. This is an important point in contemporary football. On the other hand, the Croatian specialist did important work at the helm of the Azerbaijani national team. He raised the national team to 87th place in the FIFA ranking. Therefore, the desire of foreign clubs to work with him is normal. However, there can’t be any real proposal right now. Just some other Spanish clubs also show interest beside Valencia”.

The manager noted that R.Prosinečki now only thinks about his job in the Azerbaijani team and will fulfill his duties until the end of the contract: "Prosinečki has a contract with AFFA until December 31, 2017. He now thinks only about the game of the national team with Northern Ireland in the qualifying group stage of the 2018 World Cup, and other issues do not interest him."

Notably, during his football career R. Prosinečki wore jerseys of Spanish clubs - Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla. He heads the national team of Azerbaijan since December 2014. 

The match between Azerbaijan and Northern Ireland will be played on June 10 at the "Bakcell Arena".
