Baku. 3 November. REPORT.AZ/ Gurban Gurbanov has been appointed manager of the Azerbaijan national football team.
Report informs, relevant decision was made at AFFA Executive Committee meeting.
AFFA official website also confirmed it. The statement says: "The first issue on the agenda was discussion of nominees for the post of head coach of the national team of Azerbaijan. After discussions, Gurban Gurbanov has been appointed manager of the national team. Gurbanov will take up his post after expiration of Robert Prosinečki's contract".
The 45-year-old expert will also manage FC Qarabag.
Notably, Gurban Gurbanov has been leading Qarabag since 2008.
He replaced Croatian Robert Prosinečki in this post.
