Monday’s deadline for Kylian Mbappe to activate the option of extending his current contract with Paris Saint-Germain has elapsed, Report informs via Daily Post.
This means the 24-year-old’s deal will now expire in June 2024.
Mbappe is refusing to back down in his stance and could now leave as a free agent next year.
However, PSG want to sell Mbappe for some money this summer.
This was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Monday night.
Romano tweeted: “No late twists in Kylian Mbappé saga — deadline of July 31 is over and Mbappé can’t activate the option to extend his PSG contract until June 2025.
“The contract officially expires in June 2024 now.
