Captain of Azerbaijani team explains why refused uniform number 7

Baku. 14 November. REPORT.AZ/ Captain of Azerbaijani national football team and Qarabag FC, Rashad Sadigov clarified reason to choose uniform number 14. The 34-year-old full-back told Report that changed number 7 of Tovuz's Turan FC, where began his professional career, to 14 after transfer of Mahmud Gurbanov, while playing for Neftchi.

"After transfer from Turan to Neftchi, I wore number 7. By Mahmud Gurbanov's joining the team, taking into account his playing under this number and close friendship with him, I decided to play under uniform number 14," R.Sadigov said.

While playing for Turkish FC Kocaelispor in 2008/2009 season, the captain was wearing 1 number.

Notably, in addition to the mentioned clubs, Rashad Sadigov also played for Iranian club Foolad, Turkish clubs Kayserispor and Eskişehirspor.
