Azerbaijani Olympic medalist qualifies for another stage in World Championship

Another member of Azerbaijan national boxing team has joined the fight at the World Championship held in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Report informs that Lorenzo Sotomayor, who competes in the 69kg category, faced Australian Jason Mallia in the 1/32 final.
The match ended with Sotomayor’s victory. In the strenuous battle, the Olympic medalist defeated his rival with 3: 2 score (28:29, 28:29, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28) and qualified to the 1/16 final. He will play his next match against Algerian Shamsaddin Kramou. The fight will be held on September 16.
Notably, Tayfur Aliyev (57 kg) and Amin Kushkov, who previously faced in the championship (75 kg), qualified for the 1/16 final.
