WGCMA: Standard auditing rules should be developed for food safety

Standardized audit rules should be developed to improve the effectiveness of food safety and crisis management audits, Lee Mee Hyon, deputy chairperson of the Working Group on Crisis Management Audit (WGCMA) of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), said at the 62nd meeting of the organization in Baku.

According to her, the accuracy and speed of audit processes should be further improved using big data analytics and real-time monitoring technologies. She thanked the representatives of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) for their active interest and participation.

"WGCMA is conducting a joint study on emergency preparedness and response in agriculture. Eight countries are participating in this project. These are Azerbaijan, Indonesia, South Korea, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, and Thailand," Lee Mee Hyon noted.
