Turkiye and Russia reached an agreement to use the ruble in trade, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists after returning from Sochi, Report informs.

"At the meeting with Putin in Sochi, we agreed to use the ruble as a currency in trade. Since we will conduct our trade in rubles, this will naturally become a serious source of income for Turkiye and Russia. In addition, there is a "Mir" card. Currently, five of our banks accept it. In the end, there are very serious developments in this matter, which will improve the conditions of stay of tourists from Russia. They will be able to shop and pay for hotels. The heads of the central banks of our countries held negotiations during the visit," the President said.
