Turkish central bank keeps key policy rate steady

The Financial Policy Committee of Türkiye's Central bank has decided to keep the policy rate (one-week repo auction rate) steady at 8.5%.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that, despite the steps taken by the United States and Europe, Türkiye will not increase the discount rate while he is at power.
