Strategic currency reserves in Azerbaijan reach $ 42 bln

Baku. 17 October. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan's strategic currency reserves currently totaled to $ 42 bln.

Report informs, Ayaz Chaparli, Head of Economic Analysis and Analytical Information Department at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, said at the event titled "Capital Markets in Azerbaijan: Opportunities and Perspectives", which was held regarding the anniversary of issue of bonds of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

According to him, it exceeds GDP by 12% and allows to finance 5-year imports in the country.
