Shusha hosts international forum on application of high technologies

The Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), representatives of financial monitoring bodies from member countries and observers of the organization, and other guests visited Azerbaijan to participate in an international forum on "Application of High Technologies for Financial Intelligence and Information Exchange."

As per Report, the forum taking place in Shusha is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Financial Monitoring Service (FMS) of Azerbaijan.

The forum features financial intelligence units from OTS member countries and observers.

During the event, the Special Representative of the Azerbaijani president in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov, OTS Deputy Secretary General Omar Kocaman, and FMS Board Chairman Zaur Fatizade delivered a speech.

Heads of financial intelligence units shared their countries' experiences in combating money laundering and terrorist financing.

The forum presented a system for monitoring suspicious transactions.

As a result of the discussions, the financial intelligence units of Turkic states unanimously adopted the Shusha Initiative, which aims to develop cooperation among Turkic peoples in the fight against financial crimes.
