Russia imposes retaliatory sanctions against Ukraine

Baku. 22 October. REPORT.AZ / Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on special economic measures to be taken in response to Ukraine's anti-Russian sanctions.
Report informs that the document was published on the official website of the Kremlin.
The decree notes that this decision was made "in response to the actions by Ukraine side which are unfriendly and contrary to international law related to the introduction of restrictive measures against citizens and legal entities of the Russian Federation", as well as "in order to protect national interests". The government was instructed to determine the lists of the individuals and legal entities who would be subjected to the restrictions, as well as to determine the economic measures themselves.
In 2014, Ukraine imposed sanctions against 1228 individuals and 468 legal entities, which included Russian officials, politicians, business leaders, journalists, etc. In 2017, Ukraine imposed sanctions on Russian Internet companies, such as Mail.ru Group, Yandex, Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki as well. A number of Russian media outlets were also subjected to the restrictive measures.
