Payments with Apple Pay and Google Pay double in Azerbaijan

In 2024, the number and value of payments made through Apple Pay and Google Pay in Azerbaijan doubled compared to 2023, according to the annual Digital Payments Review of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The document stated that users' adaptation to innovative payment solutions continued rapidly: “Also, the share of cashless turnover in domestic transactions with payment cards last year grew by 8.6 percentage points year-on-year, reaching a historical maximum of 64.2%.”

During this period, users made one out of every three contactless payments through POS terminals specifically using smart devices.
