Operations via plastic cards grow by 22%

Baku. 5 January. REPORT.AZ/ In January-November 2018, number of active plastic cards in Azerbaijan made up 6,476,000, up 52,000 units or 0.81% from January-October, 704,000 units or 12.2% in comparison to a year earlier, Report informs citing Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Number of social cards was 2,532,000, salary cards – 2,041,000, other cards – 1,069,000 or credit cards – 835,000.

As of December 1, 2018, debit and credit card owners cried out 10.512 million operations worth AZN 1.561 billion, relevantly up AZN 289 million or 22.72% and 2,039,000 units or 24.06% from previous year.

In the reporting period, 1,209,000 operations worth AZN 139 million were carried out via credit cards, respectively up 1.46% and 36.9% in comparison to a year ago.
