IMF reveals forecasts for Azerbaijan's strategic forex reserves until 2031

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), by the end of 2030, Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves will reach $72.709 billion (an increase of 0.73% over the year), Report informs referring to the IMF.

The growth of strategic foreign exchange reserves will be ensured by an increase in the assets of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) - $62.949 billion (with an annual increase of 1.17%), while the foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) are expected to be at the level of $9.76 billion (with a decrease of 2.01% over the year).

In 2025, Azerbaijan's strategic currency reserves are projected to be $71.671 billion (an increase of 0.96% over the year), where the CBA's currency reserves account for $10.76 billion (a decrease of 1.82% over the year), and SOFAZ's assets - $60.911 billion (an increase of 1.47%).

In 2026, strategic currency reserves will reach $72.357 billion (+0.96%), where the CBA's share is $10.56 billion (-1.89%), and SOFAZ's - $61.797 billion (+1.46%).

In 2027, these figures are projected to be $72.224 billion (-0.18%), $10.36 billion (-1.89%), and $61.864 billion (+0.11%), respectively. In turn, in 2028, the country's strategic currency reserves are expected to be at the level of $71.754 billion (-0.65%), the CBA reserves - $10.16 billion (-1.93%), the assets of the State Oil Fund of Ukraine - $61.594 billion (-0.44%), and in 2029, respectively, $72.182 billion (+0.6%), the CBA reserves - $9.96 billion (-1.97%), and the State Oil Fund of Ukraine - $62.222 billion (+1.02%).
