Economy Minister: Last year's growth in non-oil GDP broke a 7-year record

"In 2021, Azerbaijan's GDP increased by 5.6%. The non-oil GDP growth was 7.2% for the first since 2014 (7%)," Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said, Report informs.

"The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which began in 2020, climate change, problems in the supply chain, fluctuations in energy, financial and other markets have affected the Azerbaijani economy too. The government has taken the necessary steps to neutralize these effects and maintain economic development. In 2021, the process of recovery in Azerbaijan's economy started. This is reflected in GDP growth. Last year, the country's nominal GDP reached 93 billion manats," he said.
