EBRD renews its project portfolio in Azerbaijan

The current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Azerbaijan is estimated at 888 million euros as of July 31, 2026, Report informs referring to the EBRD.
According to the bank, 41% of the portfolio accounts for the private sector.
Compared to the figure as of June 30, 2026, the portfolio decreased by 0.45%, or 4 million euros.
Currently, 35 projects are active.
According to EBRD data, the main part of the current portfolio - 89% (794 million euros) - includes financing for sustainable infrastructure development, 7% (64 million euros) accounts for lending to financial institutions, and another 3% (30 million euros) for the corporate sector.
Overall, the EBRD has so far invested 3.728 billion euros in the implementation of 202 projects in Azerbaijan.
The bank's operating assets in the country as of July 31, 2026, stood at 715 million euros, down 0.83% (6 million euros) compared to the figure as of June 30.
In 2025, the bank financed 10 projects in Azerbaijan worth 81 million euros.
