CBA forecasts current account surplus above $6B for 2026

Azerbaijan's current account surplus is projected to reach $6.1 billion in 2026 and $5.2 billion in 2027, Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Governor Taleh Kazimov said at a press conference, Report informs.
According to the CBA forecasts released in May, the current account surplus was $5.5 billion for 2026 and $4.4 billion for 2027.
Kazimov added that the CBA has revised its 2026 oil price forecast to $87.7 per barrel, up from the previous forecast of $84.5 per barrel. The gas price forecast was also revised to $327 per 1,000 cubic meters, compared with the earlier estimate of $324.
For 2027, the average oil price is projected at $82.5 per barrel, while the gas price is forecast at $294 per 1,000 cubic meters.
