CBA chairman: Global climate changes affect Azerbaijani economy

Global climate changes are affecting Azerbaijan's economy, Taleh Kazimov, the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), said at the Green Finance and Sustainable Development Forum held in Baku, Report informs.

"For this reason, green finance investments are important not only in terms of providing environmental benefits but also for creating a sustainable economy. We must constantly keep in mind priorities such as increasing public awareness about the importance of green finance, establishing a dialogue between interested parties, and finding innovative solutions,” Kazimov said.

According to the chairman, the CBA knows the priorities regarding this important challenge, and there is a strategic agenda for the medium term. “This agenda includes important tasks such as improving the regulatory framework and promoting green investments. Our main goal is to ensure that the portfolios of financial institutions are aligned with sustainability goals and that they have possible tools and instructions in this area," he noted.
