Azerbaijan's Central Bank issues new banknotes

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has started issuing new banknotes with denominations of 1, 5, and 50 manats within the existing concept to improve national banknotes.
Report informs referring to CBA, banknotes with an updated security system and a new design will come into circulation gradually. Old and new banknotes will be used in parallel.
Several non-bank payment organizations (LLC Modenis - eManat, Komtec - MilliÖN, Expressbank - Expresspay) announced that adaptation processes of terminals they operate to the updated currency have not yet been completed due to restrictions because of the current epidemiological situation. Until the process is completed, it is advisable to use old banknotes in such terminals.
