Azerbaijani finance minister, IFC regional director mull financial market development

Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov has met with the new regional director of the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Central and Eastern Europe, Rana Karadsheh, and the heads of IFC’s offices in the South Caucasus region and Azerbaijan accompanying her, Report informs referring to the ministry.

The meeting participants discussed issues of improving the investment environment in Azerbaijan, the competitiveness of agriculture, access to financial resources, corporate governance, development of small and medium-sized businesses, the financial market, public-private partnerships.

Karadsheh positively assessed the work done in the field of ensuring macroeconomic and financial stability in the country, the reforms carried out and also shared her thoughts on ways to expand IFC cooperation with Azerbaijan.
