Azerbaijani banks see 8% growth in assets

As of September 1, 2021, the assets of Azerbaijan-based banks amounted to AZN 33,426.7 million, up 7.6% from a year earlier, Report informs citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Of this, net loans to customers stood at AZN 13,981.9 million. The loan portfolio grew by 7.8%, the share of loans in assets increased from 41.7% to 41.8%.
In the reporting period, the liabilities grew by 8.6% to AZN 28,613 million with the deposit portfolio risen by 16.25% to AZN 22,749.7 million. Individuals accounted for AZN 8,400.2 million, while legal entities made up AZN 14,439.5 million.
The liabilities of the banks to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) dropped by 2.9% to AZN 370.9 million, and net worth surged by 2.1% to AZN 4,813.7 million.
